In the predawn of December 14, 2011, volunteer Roy Foster was plowing snow in preparation for the pending move of USATC Tender 0039M from the Museum of Alaska Transportation and Industry, Inc. in Wasilla, Alaska. Tentative plans by the Alaska Railroad crew is to coordinate the move using a crane and lowboy. Hopefully the 17 degree temperatures will freeze the ground solid, now that the snow has been removed. The tender will join Locomotive 557 at the restoration site.
